Singing in the Rain ( Not just a catchy title..really, he was)

One of those rainy days

as I was very occupied with my sewing

my son ran over to me

and said "Mom, Where are my rain boots"

In my distracted state I mechanically reply

" In the hall closet"

He ran away with a cheerful"OK!"

Some time past....

.....

I hear loud squealing.

Upon farther investigation..

I found this:

I said "Sebastian Lee Miller

Come in at once!"

Ok actually probably more like:

" What In the tar nation are you doing?!"

And then I said "wait, wait, let me take some pictures first.:)

( I figured if he was going to get hypothermia it would've happened already:))

Ok, bad joke.

It just makes me sound like a bad mom.

Ok enough with the boring dialog

To make a long story less long

We stripped him down right there on the front porch

Teeth a-chattering

He said " Mom, I'm cold"

Really?!

So anyhew,

I'm not sure how to end this riveting story

hmm..

other than..

maybe..?

THE END ?

While the pictures may be somewhat entertaining,

I fear my post may not be...

Hmmm

Maybe the next one will be a winner...

Oh by the way,

This is how I felt on the rainy day:)

My New Coffee Table!

I found this table at a yard sale for ten bucks.
I grabbed it!
(Well actually I made my brother load it up for me.)

I brought her home
and well, you probably know the drill by now
sanded her
painted her
distressed her edges and curves
darkened her with stain.
Oh, and chopped off her legs:D

And wah lah:

Oh my, No matter what I do with this picture the carpet looks oh so green.

I love the new coffee table!

Happy Rainy Day Everyone!
I'm off to see my sisters new baby now!

Bridal Shower Luncheon

My mom and I hosted a bridal shower for my future sister-in -law Michelle

I made the lemonade with my Grandma's fresh squeezed lemonade recipe

I made it pink with a frozen daquari drink mix that I just made like the instructions and then added to the lemonade.

Mom made these cupcakes! They were totally yummo!

We had Martha Stewart to thank for this cake

Well, she didn't make it

But her instructions worked well:)

The finished product

The guest of honor and her mom talking with Tina

Maybe I should clarify that Tina is 8 1/2 months preggers here:)

Lovely picture of me diving into the fridge

Oh and a few guests

She got some very nice gifts and we had fun getting it ready!

Lots more pictures coming soon:)

The Un-Post

Well here I sit in Meadville.
I have a laptop.
I have a whole evening with not much to do.
I have a camera just loaded with before and afters
of furniture make overs I've been working on-
at home.
I haven't posted a decent blog since...
Change that-I haven't posted a blog in,
well, its been awhile.
The irony.
Well one of these days I will have the time to blog-
and the pictures at the same time.
Hopefully soon.
Have a wonderful week or day or month!
( I guess it depends on how long it is til I post again)
We'll say week and hopefully I can stick to that.
Enjoy the fall weather!

Come, let's sit and watch the parade!

McAlisterville
Bicentennial Parade
If you haven't had the pleasure of watching a parade this summer
maybe you will enjoy these pictures of mine
(without sweltering in the 100 degree weather)

This is for you Melissa
They didn't have Elenore in the parade
but this looks like it could be her cousin:)

Check out the little girl in the back seat
Could she be any more darling?

I just love old automobiles:)

It just seemed like I should capture every Mustang
Seeing how I come from a Mustang loving family and all.

I want one of these some day
Wouldn't it be perfect for yardsaling and estate sales?
Actually fact: Matt and I took some of our wedding pictures in this truck
I suppose Red felt sorry that our leaving -the -wedding vehicle was a Cavalier:)
It made darling photos if I do say so myself

Check out the man on the back seat
I was honestly a lil concerned that he'd be able to hold on for 2 hours
and not die of heat stroke
He had to be atleast 80!

In all honesty
I believe these people really were the highlight of the whole parade:)

Farmer boys

Yes, we are a little redneck/farmer-y
But really we kinda love it that way:)
Mock if you like

Whats not to love?

Not sure who was prouder,
(Thats not a word, is it?)
Grandpa or the boys

Notice they all got their red, black and IH hats on
except Val, she must've thought she was too cool for the hat:)
I'm the weird mom in the reflection
wearing purple and taking tons of picture:)

That, my freinds, is talent!
I never tried it myself
but just the idea that they had to get a running start to got on
suggests to me that I would fail miserably if I tried
You have permission to laugh at any mental pictures my might be getting.

Hope you enjoyed the virtual parade
Now here's a glimpse into
my road trip to Ohio
.

I think I love tunnels as much as kids!

Although I am always curious/slightly concerned what is holding the entire mountain up above us:{

Hey we arrived at my sisters and my son just loved doting over his little cousin Genna

Hey now we are getting ready to leave
(4 days later)
Yeah I didn't make a whole lot of use out of my camera this trip.
Thats all the Weaver cousins by the way

Lisa's big, full of character, lovely, old house.
See the tire swing in the corner?
And they have a lil wooden white barn with a calf in it!
I love it!

And her darling kids
Can you tell they are very expressive?

And all us girls:)
It was so much fun hanging out with my sisters all week!
Wish we could do this more often!
Love ya, sisters!
