Another Project!

So technically this would be project number 8.

But that just doesn't seem right

because I know I've done way more projects than that

since I started counting on this blog.

So I am just going to stop counting

But here we go:

BEFORE:

A friend of mine called me one day

and said there was an entertainment center

that was about to be pitched at his work place,

free for the taking.

I was skeptical that a free entertainment center would be anything that nice.

Then my brothers got it and brought home this lovely corner cupboard

and I was thrilled!

I painted it (with the help of Tina and Michelle)

Fired Earth, a brownish black color I got at Lowe's.

I replaced the knobs and distressed it

and I am absolutely LOVING my new FREE entertainment center!

Look what I found in my yard!

I kept hearing the distinctive sound of these little birdies
and then yesterday I saw a pair of them wandering around in my yard.
They are such cute lil round birdies.

Saturday Fun!

Sebastian was given this easter egg kit.
I don't remember doing this ever before,
so I think we were equally excited to try it!

Sebastian was the little dye-master.
He never did quite grasp the idea
of dropping the eggs in the dye slowly, though.

Jamie stopped in and helped.
I'm quite sure he and I had as much fun as Sebastian :)

( although I usually don't allow piggie toes on:))

Next week they will be red beet eggs at the easter dinner table-
much to Sebastian's disapproval...

I love Easter family time!
But so much more the reason we celebrate!

All on a Spring-y Monday

I had been thinking one day

"wow, I would really love to get a close up picture of a robin"

This is no easy task with the zoom my camera is equipped with.

A little later that day

I was sitting at the table with my back to the window

when suddenly a loud thud nearly knocked me out of my chair.

Seconds later I was taking pictures of the stunned robin:)

Dandelions, already!

My little outdoorsman

Soon it will be green everywhere

and we'll have forgotten all about being tired of snow

The babbling brook I hear from my bedroom window:)

Aah the smell of fresh laundry drying...

My Mom's tried and true chocolate cake and icing recipes...

And we can't make chocolate cupcakes without some peanut butter icing!

And I had to bring some of spring indoors..

some about to bloom tree blossoms...

And a real birdies nest!
