Steve and Abby Tie the Knot ! !

Sebastian was the lucky ring bearer.

I asked him to smile nice for the camera.

I got this..

And this..

And this..

And this..

This is ok ..

And this :)

What a poser!

I guess a perfect picture would just be boring :)

The bridal party, minus two guys. haha

Gotta love kids meals!

The cake was YUMMO!
Chocolate layers with Chocolate mousse
and white icing and of course vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of raspberry sauce!

Cutting the cake. (Obviously)

They got each other pretty good. :)

A Lazy Wintery Day Indoors

On these days when its just a little too cold to be playing outside
my son has been making good use of some of his Christmas presents.

We are trying to get the boy ready for kindergarten.
He is loving learning!

And of course when the learning is getting even slightly boring
there is always decorating yourself :)

His mannerism is so much like his daddy its crazy,
like this tongue in the cheek thing while concentrating.

Speaking of his daddy; here is a piece of his art work!
I love it!

R.E.M. Everybody Hurts

I came across this song on my ipod today.
I close my eyes and time stops.
It takes me to scenes of my past four years.
Like a movie in my head.
The scene of leaving our house the morning of Matt's sentencing,
not certain when we would ever be there together again.
The moment I watched him being escorted out of the courtroom by guards on either sides.
The first time I went back to see him behind a glass wall.
And then the day we realized he would no longer be able to see his son with the label he'd been given.
Matt knowing nothing of his son except photos and stories for a year and a half.
Sebastian remembering nothing of this daddy I told him about.
And then the day we got that wonderful news that he had received special permission to visit with his son again.
And then the sinking feeling of the realization that the pre-release date is pretty much a tease and nothing more.
And Sebastian crying in the visiting room because he thinks his Daddy doesn't want to play with him in the play area like the other daddys do,
not understanding it is forbidden because of the ugly label his Daddy is branded with.
And then the scene of Sebastian crying, leaving the visiting room, sobbing "I want Daddy to come home with us,
Why can't Daddy take us home.".....

The day dream ends with my son bounding into the room.
Back to reality.

Pain is universal.
I know this song may take you to your own painful moments.
That's what this songs about.
Relating and sympathizing and plugging away.

What this song doesn't mention is God's wonderful peace that passes all understanding.

A Verry Merry Christmas!

Matt's cell mate came home just in time for Christmas.
He was our entertainment.

Look at Zeb:)

He was very hungry.

Our other entertainer of the weekend.

He'll be making music with his Daddy before we know it!

A surprise gift from my husband!
A five generation portrait of friend of his drew.
Matt's Grandpa, the gentleman on the top right, made the frame !

The mess is half the fun!

Such a creative cookie decorator!

Hope you all had an equally happy Christmas!

Singing in the Rain ( Not just a catchy title..really, he was)

One of those rainy days

as I was very occupied with my sewing

my son ran over to me

and said "Mom, Where are my rain boots"

In my distracted state I mechanically reply

" In the hall closet"

He ran away with a cheerful"OK!"

Some time past....

.....

I hear loud squealing.

Upon farther investigation..

I found this:

I said "Sebastian Lee Miller

Come in at once!"

Ok actually probably more like:

" What In the tar nation are you doing?!"

And then I said "wait, wait, let me take some pictures first.:)

( I figured if he was going to get hypothermia it would've happened already:))

Ok, bad joke.

It just makes me sound like a bad mom.

Ok enough with the boring dialog

To make a long story less long

We stripped him down right there on the front porch

Teeth a-chattering

He said " Mom, I'm cold"

Really?!

So anyhew,

I'm not sure how to end this riveting story

hmm..

other than..

maybe..?

THE END ?

While the pictures may be somewhat entertaining,

I fear my post may not be...

Hmmm

Maybe the next one will be a winner...

Oh by the way,

This is how I felt on the rainy day:)

My New Coffee Table!

I found this table at a yard sale for ten bucks.
I grabbed it!
(Well actually I made my brother load it up for me.)

I brought her home
and well, you probably know the drill by now
sanded her
painted her
distressed her edges and curves
darkened her with stain.
Oh, and chopped off her legs:D

And wah lah:

Oh my, No matter what I do with this picture the carpet looks oh so green.

I love the new coffee table!

Happy Rainy Day Everyone!
I'm off to see my sisters new baby now!
