Its been an interesting 7 years..

In one of Matt's recent letters

he wrote "thanks for stayin on this crazy roller coaster ride.."

I must say its been anything but boring !!

And I can't wait to see what's ahead!

I've married a pretty awesome guy...

As these letters I received over the past few years show...

This pile is most of the letters I got in the last four years
although there are more..

Most of them aren't amazingly poetic
but some of them are...
Either way the pile of them testifies to the fact
that after almost 7 years of marriage
my husband still pursues me,
he still communicates with me,
still takes an interest in me,
still takes time for me..
which I would have to say is better than any gift bought with money.

So thankful for my husband this valentines day
and every day....

A Valentine's Day Project ; I Heart You

While walking through the store the other day I was telling Sebastian that in about 2 weeks its valentines day and he'll get to exchange love-y little cards with all his classmates.
So we looked at all the box valentines....Lightning McQueen, barbie Doll, They all just seemed kinda cheesy. Easy, but cheesy.

So we bout a bag of these...

..And got out glue, scissors, paper, the Cricut, cellophane bags, stapler, and so on
and made a huge mess all over the table.

And eventually had a pile of these!


Sebastian was so tired of writing "from Sebastian" but eventually finished.
I thought of being more creative and doing catchy phrases with critters etc for the boys, but when Sebastian was losing interest after the 1st 3 I decided pink and red and hearts were good enough for everyone :)

Now we just have to wait for Valentine's Day to show up!

It wouldn't be January without the Farm Show!

This handsome young cowboy was my date for the night!

All I had to do was mention there would be cowboys at the rodeo and he knew what he was going to wear.

I didn't even try to disagree.

The kids are really into making stuff outta paper plates these days :)
And they definetly love making sprinkle cookies!

Dying Leather!

This was fun for something different!
I stole this humongous genuine piece of leather for 20 bucks!!

The only problem-
the color was called hot pepper....
so I went dye shopping.

I got this and dark brown.

My test areas-
black was too black
and too dull.
the bottom tip is 2 coats of dark brown
and further up , just one coat.


I didn't like any of them
and it would just be boring if I didn't try mixing them!

This is why I can't have nice nails :)
And this is the color I came up with, with 3/4 dark brown and 1/4 black

I like it :)

And wah-lah a huge, gorgeous leather hide!


And this is all just a very small part of the project
